Here is the good news for Honda Consumers, Japanese automaker Honda Motor Co. Ltd. Plans to launch an all-new Honda ZR-V SUV in Japan. As per the media report, Honda will start selling the brand-new ZR-V SUV on April 21, 2023, at dealerships throughout Japan. The all-new SUV will be available with both hybrid and turbocharged powertrains. The Japanese carmaker has also revealed specification details about the JDM-spec ZR-V, which is essentially a re-badged version of the Honda HR-V that was introduced earlier this year. Honda ZR-V SUV Inner and Outlook:
All-new upcoming ZR-V SUV gives an impressive look with sharp and flowing properties. The front end of the car features a vertical grille that blends in with the surroundings and flowing horizontally, a Honda emblem, and broad headlamps that look good. The side profile possesses dual-color alloy wheels, body-colored side mirrors, and door handles, and a beautiful deep curve in the middle that offer a sharp look to the car. The rear of the vehicle is designed to provide volume around the lower body and a clean top profile, emphasizing the vehicle’s wide stance.
Additionally, the interior design of the Honda ZR-V SUV features functional and precise finishes on all parts to highlight the beauty of the cabin and provide high-quality interior space. The all-new SUV measuring includes 4,567 mm in length, 1,839 mm in width, and 1,621 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,654 mm.
Engine and Specifications:
In terms of specifications, in Japan all-new ZR-V SUV will be available in two trim levels X and Z with both turbocharged petrol and hybrid powertrain options. The ZR-V uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that provides 175 Hp horsepower and 240 Nm of torque and is paired with a CVT transmission and is available in both fronts- or all-wheel drive.
While the other option is the Honda’s e: HEV hybrid powertrain that features a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with 139 hp horsepower and 182 Nm of torque. The electric motor is coupled to the combustion engine, which primarily serves as a generator to power a separate traction motor with ratings of 184 PS and 315 Nm. It also comes with four drive modes such as Sport, Normal, Econ and Snow.

In Japan, the base two-wheel drive (2WD) petrol model prices will start from JPY3m (US$21,000), taxes included. While the top 4WD hybrid variant will cost JPY4.12m (US$29,350). The company has not yet revealed the launch date of the car but expected that Honda will begin selling the all-new ZR-V SUV at dealerships across Japan on April 21, 2023.
